The latest data we have for Australia is from surveys conducted in 2022 which showed that 85% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 88% think they are effective. 86% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 74% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.
Confidence in vaccines in Australia has declined since the first surveys carried out there. In 2015, 90% of people felt that vaccines were safe while 92% thought they were effective. 93% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines and 75% felt that vaccines were compatible with their religious beliefs.
