Vaccine confidence in Belarus is low1 compared to other countries. The latest data we have for Belarus is from surveys conducted in 2022 which showed that 48% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 53% think they are effective. 46% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 76% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.

Confidence in vaccines in Belarus has broadly increased since the first surveys carried out there. In 2018, 38% of people felt that vaccines were safe while 48% thought they were effective. However, the percentage of those surveyed who said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines has declined by 18% (from 64% in 2018, to 46% in 2022).
