Vaccine confidence in Cameroon is high1 compared to other countries. The latest data we have for Cameroon is from surveys conducted in 2022 which showed that 68% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 72% think they are effective. 82% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 60% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.
Confidence in vaccines in Cameroon has declined since the first surveys carried out there. In 2018, 72% of people felt that vaccines were safe while 82% thought they were effective. 97% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines.
