Vaccine confidence in Cyprus is high1 compared to other countries. The latest data we have for Cyprus is from surveys conducted in 2022 which showed that 82% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 84% think they are effective. 82% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 84% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.
Confidence in the safety of vaccines in Cyprus has increased since the first surveys carried out there. In 2018, 80% of people felt that vaccines were safe. However, confidence in the effectiveness of vaccines has declined by 2% (from 86% to 84%). The percentage of respondents who said they believed it’s important for children to have vaccines has also declined by11% since 2018 (from 93% to 82%).
