The latest data we have for Ethiopia is from surveys conducted in 2020 which showed that 85% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 89% think they are effective. 96% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 76% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.
Confidence in vaccines in Ethiopia has declined since the first surveys carried out there. In 2015, 95% of people felt that vaccines were safe while 97% thought they were effective. 99% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines and 90% felt that vaccines were compatible with their religious beliefs.
