Vaccine confidence in Fiji is high1 compared to other countries. The latest data we have for Fiji is from surveys conducted in 2021 which showed that 91% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 86% think they are effective. 74% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 59% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.
Confidence in vaccines in Fiji has declined since the first surveys carried out there. In 2015, 83% of people felt that vaccines were safe while 84% thought they were effective. 89% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines and 73% felt that vaccines were compatible with their religious beliefs.
