Vaccine confidence in Hong Kong is high1 compared to other countries. The latest data we have for Hong Kong is from surveys conducted in 2019 which showed that 77% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 81% think they are effective. 83% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 60% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.
Confidence in vaccines in Hong Kong has increased since the first surveys carried out there. In 2015, 76% of people felt that vaccines were safe while 81% thought they were effective. 82% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines and 54% felt that vaccines were compatible with their religious beliefs.
