Vaccine confidence in Iraq is very high1 compared to other countries. The latest data we have for Iraq is from surveys conducted in 2019 which showed that 89% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 93% think they are effective. 99% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 87% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.

Confidence in vaccines in Iraq has increased since the first surveys carried out there. In 2018, 90% of people felt that vaccines were safe while 90% thought they were effective. 97% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines.
