Vaccine confidence in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic is very high1 compared to other countries. The latest data we have for the Lao People’s Democratic Republic is from surveys conducted in 2022 which showed that 91% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 91% think they are effective. 90% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 78% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.
Confidence in vaccines in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic has declined since the first surveys carried out there. In 2018, 92% of people felt that vaccines were safe while 91% thought they were effective. 98% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines.
