Vaccine confidence in Mali is very high1 compared to other countries. The latest data we have for Mali is from surveys conducted in 2022 which showed that 91% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 90% think they are effective. 88% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 89% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.
Confidence in vaccines in Mali has increased since the first surveys carried out there. In 2018, 51% of people felt that vaccines were safe while 68% thought they were effective. 74% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines.
