Vaccine confidence in Peru is high1 compared to other countries. The latest data we have for Peru is from surveys conducted in 2022 which showed that 87% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 88% think they are effective. 89% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 71% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.
Confidence in vaccines in Peru has declined since the first surveys carried out there. In 2015, 90% of people felt that vaccines were safe while 90% thought they were effective. 97% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines and 73% felt that vaccines were compatible with their religious beliefs.
