The latest data we have for Portugal is from surveys conducted in 2022 which showed that 93% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 94% think they are effective. 92% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 90% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.
Confidence in vaccines in Portugal has declined since the first surveys carried out there. In 2015, 94% of people felt that vaccines were safe while 95% thought they were effective. 98% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines and 84% felt that vaccines were compatible with their religious beliefs.
