Vaccine confidence in Senegal is high1 compared to other countries. The latest data we have for Senegal is from surveys conducted in 2022 which showed that 70% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 71% think they are effective. 66% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 78% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.

Confidence in vaccines in Senegal has increased since the first surveys carried out there. In 2018, 62% of people felt that vaccines were safe while 69% thought they were effective. 80% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines.
