Biography
Sara Valckx obtained her master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Antwerp in 2010. During her PhD research, she investigated the effect of maternal metabolic disorders on fertility – specifically on oocyte and embryo quality. She obtained her PhD degree in 2015. She worked for three years as a Research Manager for the Reference Center for Biological Markers of Dementia (BIODEM) at the University of Antwerp. In 2019, she started working at the Centre for the Evaluation of Vaccination (CEV) at the University of Antwerp. She is actively supporting the Viral Hepatitis Prevention Board and the Human Papillomavirus Prevention and Control Board. As a research manager, she is also involved in several pending and active projects of the CEV on the topic of vaccine communication and training, and vaccine confidence.
